From September 8th to September 15th, models and celebrities graced the streets of New York City for fashion week. Designers showcased their Spring/Summer 2017 collections to curated guest lists including celebrities, bloggers and editors.
Those of us who aren’t gracing celebrity guest lists were left to follow along through social media to see the collections. Thanks to the constant flow of snapchats and insta-stories I was able to find 3 new trends we could all give a try at home. Since we can’t receive personal pieces from designers themselves I made sure these trends are achievable & even wearable for our typical day-to-day lives.
- Glitter Cuticles

I know this sounds weird, I mean “glitter cuticles” what even is that? However, I actually fell in love with this trend after first seeing it on Into the Gloss founder & CEO Emily Weiss‘ snapchat while she was backstage at Rodarte. Later, I discovered Emily’s co-worker Tom Newton had posted about this nail trend on Into the Gloss and I was able to get a closer look. Essentially, after a simple manicure glitter nail polish was carefully applied around each model’s cuticles. Maybe you think this is weird, maybe not, but I will definitely be trying this easy twist in my near future.

Designers Prabal Gurung, Givenchy and others runways featured lingerie inspired daywear. Stylecaster.com author Perrie Samotin briefly explained this silk slip trend in a recent article. As shown in the above photos, designed ranged from PJ-style outfits to lingerie inspired outfits. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot of this trend at places like Forever21 and H&M.
3. Off the shoulder

The runways proved that off the shoulder tops are sticking around a little bit longer. This trend hit stores everywhere last spring & it seems a few designers refreshed the trend for Spring 2017. Refinery29 writer Alyssa Coscarelli showcased designer Han Chong’s collection of various off the shoulder pieces. Since this is already a popular trend, finding budget friendly options will be easy continuing into the next season.
Now, I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to try these (+ other) trends when they hit stores. Off the shoulder is one of my personal favorite trends of the past year & I’m so excited i’ll be able to find more pieces. I hope you enjoy these trends & keep them in mind next time you’re at the mall!
